QUADS

QUADRICEPS CONSIST OF THE VASTUS LATERIALIS, RECTUS FEMORIS, VASTUS INTERMEDIUS, AND VASTUS MEDIALIS

  • VASTUS LATERALIS IS THE OUTER QUAD AND IS CONSIDERED THE LARGEST MUSCLE OF THE GROUP.

  • RECTUS FEMORIS IS LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE FRONT OF THE QUAD. IT IS USED FOR KNEE EXTENSION AND THIGH FLEXION

  • VASTUS INTERMEDIUS IS LOCATED IN THE ANTERIOR REGION OF THE THIGH BELOW THE RECTUS FEMORIS AND BETWEEN THE VASTUS MEDIALIS AND LATERALIS.

  • VASTUS MEDIALIS IS CONSIDERED THE "TEAR DROP" SHAPED MUSCLE OF THE QUAD.
